Triply Cookware
Is Triply Cookware Safe? What the Science Says
Short answer: yes - triply is among the safest cookware materials available. Here is the evidence behind that answer, including the two concerns people raise.
The food surface: SS304
The cooking surface is food-grade SS304 (18/8) - the same grade used in commercial kitchens, dairy equipment and surgical tools. It is non-reactive: acids, tomatoes and tamarind don’t leach anything meaningful from it.
The nickel question
SS304 contains ~8% nickel. Studies show nickel migration from 304 into food is negligible - far below daily dietary intake from food itself. People with severe nickel allergy should consult a doctor, but for the general population it is a non-issue.
The aluminium core question
The aluminium is fully encapsulated between steel layers - it never touches food or flame. Aluminium exposure concerns apply to bare aluminium vessels, not triply.
Temperature safety
Unlike coated pans, triply has no temperature ceiling - no fumes, no degradation at searing heat. It is oven-safe (check handle specs) and dishwasher-safe.
Frequently asked questions
Does triply cookware leach chemicals?
No. The SS304 cooking surface is non-reactive and coating-free; the aluminium core is sealed between steel layers.
Is triply safe for daily cooking?
Yes - it is the standard material in professional kitchens worldwide, used daily at high heat.
