Logo Engraving on Cookware: Laser, Etching & Embossing Compared

Your logo on the steel is what makes it unmistakably yours. Three methods dominate - here is how they compare on cost, look and durability.

Laser engraving

Best for: crisp logos, fine detail, small text. How: a laser vaporises a thin surface layer, leaving a precise dark mark. Cost: low per-unit after setup; ideal for most private label runs. Durability: permanent - survives decades of cooking and scrubbing.

Chemical etching

Best for: subtle, premium marks and large areas. How: acid etches the exposed design through a mask. Look: soft, frosted, understated - favoured by European brands. Note: slightly higher setup cost, beautiful on mirror finishes.

Embossing / stamping

Best for: bold marks, base stamps. How: the design is pressed into the metal during forming. Durability: indestructible - it is the metal’s shape. Trade-off: needs tooling, so best at higher volumes.

Placement matters

Base exterior (visible in store displays), side wall (visible in use), or inside base (subtle). Send vector artwork (AI/EPS/SVG) - never a JPG - and approve a physical engraved sample, because screen proofs lie about scale.
