Tri-Ply Circles

Induction Testing for Tri-Ply Circles: Methods That Work

Induction compatibility is a yes/no that decides entire markets. Test it at the circle stage - not after you’ve pressed 10,000 vessels.

Test 1 - Magnet (screening)

A ferrite magnet must grip firmly across the whole outer face. Weak or patchy attraction = inconsistent magnetic layer. Fast, free, catches 80% of problems.

Test 2 - Hob test (confirmation)

Press a sample vessel (or lay the circle on an induction hob with a steel plate). It should heat evenly within seconds with no error codes. Test at multiple hob positions.

Test 3 - Production QC

For finished goods: 100% induction test on the line is cheap (seconds per piece) and non-negotiable for induction-market orders.

Specify it

"Outer layer SS430, magnetic, induction-compatible - verified by magnet + hob test per AQL lot." One line, zero ambiguity.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a circle is induction-ready?

Magnet must grip the outer face firmly; confirm with a hob heating test on a sample.
