Cooking Rice in Triply: Perfect Grains Every Time
Rice is the triply audition - even heat either makes it or breaks it. Here is the method.
The method
- Rinse until water runs mostly clear; soak 20-30 min (basmati)
- Ratio: 1:1.5 rice:water (soaked basmati); 1:2 for unsoaked
- Boil on medium-high, then lowest heat, lid on, 12 min
- Rest 10 min off heat - never skip
- Fluff with fork
Why triply excels
The gentle, even simmer - no hotspot scorching at the bottom, no undercooked top. Triply’s heat retention also keeps rice warm through the rest.
Troubleshooting
- Sticking bottom: heat too high during simmer - go lower
- Mushy: too much water or lifted the lid (steam escape!)
- Hard grains: under-soaked or short rest
Frequently asked questions
Does rice stick to triply vessels?
Not with correct heat - lowest simmer, tight lid, proper ratio. Sticking means the heat was too high.
